This place is about two things, light and texture. Both are amazing. I never tire of the light and texture-play that lives right outside my front door. Nothing more to say.

Here’s something not-romantic. Today was garbage day. I told you it wasn’t thrilling. But what was thrilling is what the light was doing as I walked out there very early this morning. I decided to leave the images in color because it was those golden hues that caught my eye. That and the strong light and dark areas. Even something as mundane as taking out the garbage can turn out to be inspiring.

This is an annual event which I simply cannot resist posting each year. Every year we go down to the center of Santa Fe to see this light show. And every year we say, “Wow, this is the best year ever!” Here are the shots from yesterday, Saturday, December 22nd 2023. Photographically, I wanted to see what the Nikon Z50 with THE KIT LENS would do under these conditions. I was amazed that I got anything. Next test: the Canyon Road Walk on Christmas Eve.

Here in Santa Fe, all of our big holidays take place in the Plaza. It’s charming and becomes packed with people, kids, strollers, dogs, and geeks like me with a camera. These photos are all from the recent 4th of July celebration. That’s an annual celebration in the Plaza with plenty of good food and interesting booths set up with artwork and jewelry. I wouldn’t miss it!

Fun street photography. I especially enjoyed the feature photo, so cute. 😊
