This is a photo blog featuring a selection of photos that I have taken over the period of many years (including right now!) mostly in the Santa Fe New Mexico area. This will always be a work in progress. The camera comes with me everywhere. I will post small galleries of photos on a regular basis. The photos within an individual posting are not necessarily in chronological order. I choose groups that I like seeing together, and maybe someone else will too. But 99% of them are from this locale.
The unifying theme for this site, in case you haven’t figured it out, is that most of these photos are taken in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They document my city and its surroundings. Most of the images are in black and white, but sometimes color insists on taking center stage. It’s just the nature of the light here. I do not use PhotoShop to add or subtract anything except for those postings called “Text and Image” in Type Gone Wild. Nothing else has been manipulated, but I may use traditional darkroom techniques such as “dodging” and “burning”, selectively lightening and darkening areas of the photograph. Cropping is rare and something I try to avoid.
At times I have uploaded slightly larger JPEGs in order to preserve the lovely gradations in our skies. This may increase the time it takes to download. Please be patient. The light here is truly magical. It’s a photographer’s paradise. Come and visit sometime and by all means, DO BRING YOUR CAMERA. I hope you enjoy your visit.
